The good Samaritan

I was lucky to have had a good Samaritan… Not everyone is…..
It began as a normal day.
I reached college early morning by my Kinetic Spark(moped with gears).
By afternoon, there was news of chaos in Garha (a place enroute home) .The college gave over sooner than the usual hours.
There were two accesses to our College.
One from the Garha Road and the other from Nayagaon ,MPEB.This is an isolated stretch and one can enjoy the hills and the forest flanking the road on either sides.I decided to take this route as the other one was chaotic.
As fate would have it, just when I entered the lonely stretch my moped stopped.I tried all means to kick start it but it wasn’t to be.
A chill ran down my spine for fear of the unknown. I began imagining the next day’s deadly headlines in the daily newspaper….. .Suddenly my chain of thoughts was distracted by a screeching halt of a scooter. The man riding it stopped to ask me whether I needed help.I got more scared and said a polite “No ..thank you.”
I started to drag my moped wheeling it like a bicycle with great difficulty. The man stopped and offered to help again. He showed me his house on the hill top and said I could leave the moped with him while he finds out a way to drop me home. I was in no mood to be obliged as I couldn’t believe that good souls do exist. Suddenly like a God-sent Avtar I spotted a car with a “red cross” approaching. It was our Dean Ma’am. This man signaled and made Ma’am stop. I was almost in tears.
Ma’am offered me a lift and dropped me safely at my cousin’s home in MPEB colony.
My cousin dropped me home and while I narrated the story everyone was unanimous “Now you hae lost your vehicle forever”
Nevertheless I went in the evening with my cousin to the same spot where the man had shown me his house and Lo!he had repaired my moped
I just couldn’t thank him enough and he showed his utmost humbleness by not even accepting the repairing charges.
Even today I feel so good thinking about that Good Samaritan ,when in today’s times we cannot even trust our own folks. I also feel so thankful to our Dean ma’am who appeared just like God to me when I was stranded.
